Red Velvet Madeleines.

A beautiful batch of french madeleines to enjoy with a cup of tea.
There's already a few recipes that you can find here, on the blog, under the "Madeleines" tag but this was the first time I made red velvet ones.
I love Madeleines. They're very easy to make and they're so dainty, light and delicious for those sugar craving moments.
The recipe is from Aimee Twigger beautiful gorgeous book "Love, Aimee x". A book that I truly adore and from which I wrote about here, when I made these fabulous marshmallows.
As you all know by now, Aimee is the author of the delightful Twigg Studios blog and for those that don't have the book, you should have a look at Aimee's blog because the recipes are mouthwatering and the styling is absolutely divine.

Orange Madeleines / Madalenas de laranja.

Another Madeleines recipe, these ones from the legendary Chef Pierre Koffmann and flavoured with orange!
Madeleines are easy and quick to make and are always a treat.
ingredients (makes 12 large or 24 mini Madeleines):
melted butter and plain flour for the tray
2 eggs
100g caster sugar
100g plain flour
3/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp orange flower water
100g unsalted butter, melted
method:
Preheat the oven to 200ºC.
Brush the Madeleine tray with melted butter, then shake in a little flour to coat (tap the tray to remove the excess flour).
Whisk together the eggs and sugar in a bowl until frothy.
Lightly whisk in the remaining ingredients.
Spoon the mixture into the shell shaped tray.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until the Madeleines have risen a little in the middle and are firm to the touch.
Transfer the Madeleines to a wire rack and leave to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Reservar.
ingredientes para as Madalenas (12):
150g farinha de trigo branca, peneirada
1/2 chá de fermento em pó, peneirado
55g açúcar refinado branco
1 colher chá de flores secas de alfazema
2 ovos
Numa taça, colocar a farinha, o fermento, o açúcar, a alfazema, os ovos, o mel, a manteiga derretida e a baunilha.
